Bracebridge OPP investigates two theft incidents at the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre

The Bracebridge OPP is investigating two thefts that occurred at the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre.

According to police, on Jan. 5, at approximately 12:00 p.m., an unknown man entered the locker room of the community centre and stole a wallet from a locked locker.

Officers said the victim’s bank cards were used shortly after at the Walmart located on Depot Drive. The suspect then left the wallet at the victim’s bank; however, the cards were missing.

On Jan. 16, 2026, at approximately the same time and location, an unknown man accessed stored belongings and stole a bag and wallet.

Following the theft, police said the victim’s banking cards were used at the same Walmart as in the previous incident. The suspect returned the stolen items to the victim’s bank once again, though the bank cards were missing.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the OPP is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect, as investigators believe the two incidents are related.

Anyone with information is asked to call Bracebridge OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
