Andy’s House celebrates its fifth year of providing services across the region

Hospice Muskoka celebrated the fifth anniversary of Andy’s House on November 5 at the Port Carling Community Centre.

According to officials, the event was celebrated alongside representatives from across Muskoka, including mayors and council members from the Township of Muskoka Lakes, Bracebridge, and Gravenhurst.

“Andy’s House exists because of the extraordinary kindness and generosity of the people of Muskoka. This celebration is a tribute to everyone—our donors, volunteers, staff, and community partners—who have helped us deliver compassionate end-of-life care close to home,” said Donna Kearney, Executive Director.

Officials said the event included a special recognition of Bob and Shirley Potts and the Andy Potts Memorial Foundation for their continuous support of Andy’s House.

Since opening its doors in 2020, officials said, Andy’s House has become a cornerstone of compassionate palliative care in Muskoka, supporting over 1000 residents and their families through their most difficult journeys.

Officials said Hospice Muskoka will continue to grow its programs and outreach across the region, including Andy’s House, Andy’s House at Home, and Hospice Muskoka Community Programs.
