Lakeland awards $1,500 to two local students for their academic excellence

Lakeland Networks and Lakeland Generation awarded two local students with $1,500 each for their academic excellence.

Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School’s Lachlan McCreadie is heading to Georgian College for Game Design and Simulation, and Thomas Murphy from Huntsville is attending Wilfrid Laurier University for Business Administration.

“We are deeply appreciative of the chance to invest in the future of our local youth. By supporting their educational journeys, we hope to lay the groundwork for these students to return and continue to contribute to their communities. We eagerly anticipate the incredible accomplishments they will achieve through their post-secondary studies,” said Taylor Servos, Lakeland’s Chief People Officer.

Each year, Lakeland Networks provides four $1,500 bursaries to assist graduating high school students with post-secondary education. The remaining awards were given to students in Almaguin Highlands and Parry Sound.
