Bracebridge launches 150 Forest initiative for its anniversary

The Town of Bracebridge is launching 150 Forest, a tree planting program in honour of its anniversary.

As part of the initiative, officials say 150 trees will be planted between Little Ryan’s Way and Gostick Park to “create a lasting and living tribute to the Town’s rich history and bright future”.

It will feature trees of varying size and species that, according to officials, will align with the Town’s Urban Tree Management Plan commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability.

The trees, which will vary in maturity at the time of planting, are expected to be six to eight feet tall and spaced 40 to 60 feet apart to allow for proper growth.

Additionally, commemorative signage will be installed to recognize this project and its supporters.

Residents, businesses and community groups are invited to be part of the initiative by sponsoring a tree.
