Kiwanis hosting food drive in support of Salvation Army Huntsville

The shelves at Metro, Bullock’s Independent, and Giant Tiger in Huntsville will be the hub for a Kiwanis Club of Huntsville Muskoka fundraiser.

Between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, the Kiwanis will be outside Metro and Giant Tiger at 70 King William St. and Bullock’s Independent at 131 Howland Dr. collecting food and cash donations for the Salvation Army’s branch in Huntsville.

Martin Mann, treasurer for the Kiwanis, says the most-needed items include canned food, peanut butter, and pasta.

“We will mark the shelves with a little Kiwanis tag of the most-needed items for the Salvation Army,” he explains.

After paying for the goods, Mann explains a table will be set up at the exit of each store for you to stop them off at. He adds you can also purchase gift cards or donate cash.

Mann says Starbucks at 84 King William will continue to collect donations for the Salvation Army after the Kiwanis’ event ends.
