The slate of candidates who will be running to be the next District of Muskoka Chair has been finalized.
The last to submit their paperwork was Curry Clifford, a realtor in Muskoka, and Howard Rosenthal, a retired chartered accountant who unsuccessfully ran to be Lake of Bays councillor in Ridout/McLean Wards in the recent municipal election.
They will face off against former three-term Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman, long-time Gravenhurst politician Terry Pilger, current Bracebridge district councillor Don Smith, and former Huntsville district councillor Tim Withey.
Next up for the candidates is a debate that’s scheduled for Nov. 28 at 3 PM. It will be moderated by Bracebridge lawyer Jean Polak. Questions can be submitted for the debate ahead of time by district councillors, members of the public, and the media.
A secret ballot vote will be held by district council on Dec. 5 to choose the next chair.
