Muskoka accounts for only impaired charges during holiday blitz

COTTAGE COUNTRY, ON – Drivers are staying sober for the most part so far this holiday season but police say even one person caught intoxicated behind the wheel is too many.

The region is almost two weeks into the OPP’s Festive RIDE Campaign. So far there have been six impaired charges laid in 216 check stops set up across Bracebridge, Huntsville, Haliburton and Parry Sound.

To be more specific, those six are split between the two Muskoka towns.

Bracebridge has had three charges in 43 check stops and Huntsville also has three along with one warning range suspension in 26 RIDE initiatives.

Both West Parry Sound OPP and the Haliburton detachment have laid zero impaired charges in 147 total check stops between the two municipalities.
