PoolaPalooza to take over Summit Centre for local hospice

HUNTSVILLE, ON – Anyone experiencing withdrawals while thinking back to swimming in the lake just months ago can get their fix while raising money for a great cause.

Hospice Huntsville is holding a PoolaPalooza FUNdraising event on Sunday, November 24th at the Canada Summit Centre.

According to a release from the organization, there will be both traditional lane swimming and a series of relay events.

“It’s the perfect fundraiser for this time of year and for those who love to swim!” the release said. “It is your choice which you do. It is not a race or a competition but it is sure to be fun for all ages!”

The organization added that each swimmer has to register by Friday, November 15th at 4 p.m. The release said a minimum of a $50 donation per participant is required, but the fee is waived if swimmers raise $100 or more.

Those interested can register through the Hospice Huntsville website. Donations can be collected by completing a form either picked up at the hospice or can be printed online. Pledges can also be submitted through CanadaHelps website.

Doors open at 9 a.m. to drop off cash and swimming will be from 10 a.m. to noon.

The organization added that anyone who donates $20 or more will receive a tax receipt.
