GRAVENHURST, ON – The removal of a sidewalk in the Town of Gravenhurst is taking place.
Residents along the southside of Phillip Street East will see the existing sidewalk torn out starting on Tuesday.
According to the town the sidewalk is not being replaced. Residents will have now use the sidewalk on the north side of the street. The upside is the contractor, Signature Concrete, will be remediating people’s property lines with sod where the sidewalk once was.
The project is expected to be completed Friday, August 16th.
The work is the result of an extended consultation process with town staff and residents about the state the existing sidewalk on the south side.
The town wishes to advise residents access will be maintained to residential properties during this period.
