Algonquin Park issues boil water advisory for Pog Lake Campground

ALGONQUIN PARK, ON – Visitors to a campsite in Algonquin Park need to be careful with the water.

Park officials announced today that Ontario Parks issued a boil water advisory for Pog Lake Campground.

The reason for the advisory is to “protect consumers from potential health risks related to drinking water of an unacceptable microbiological quality.”

Staff say that the visitors to the campground can either drink water that they brought with them, or they can boil the water for at least a minute. The boiling process eliminates the bacteria in the water.

Pog Lake Campground is just west of the Lookout Trail, along Highway 60 in the southern part of the park.
