UPDATE: Rainfall warning ends for Bracebridge, still in effect for Huntsville

UPDATE: The rainfall warning has come to an end for Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Port Carling and Port Severn.  It remains in effect for Huntsville, Baysville, Town of Parry Sound, Rosseau, and Killbear Park.

A rainfall warning is in effect for Muskoka and Parry Sound.

Environment Canada says it’s expecting heavy rains to start tonight and last into tomorrow evening.

Between 25 and 40mm are expected to fall with some areas possibly seeing up to 50mm. The agency says the ground is already nearly saturated and has little ability to absorb any more rain.

That means the flooding situations could get much worse by the weekend. Do not drive down roads that are closed because of the water and keep yourself, your children and pets away from fast-moving waterways.

Environment Canada is monitoring the situation and will keep you updated as needed.
