Local Catholic board warns parents to be prepared for the ‘Momo Challenge’

Be wary of the Momo challenge.

That’s the message from the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board as the internet threat targeting kids surfaces in Ontario. The board says it has received reports of students viewing the Momo video, which targets kids by demanding they perform sometimes dangerous tasks or face consequences.

Board officials are making resources available for parents and students online and at all of the schools to deal with this issue. This includes a fact sheet, which you can view here and staff are prepared to talk with students affected by the Momo Challenge.

The board is asking parents to be aware of what your kids view online and talk to them about reality versus fiction when it comes to these online videos.
