District warning drivers to be careful of flooding, potholes

The District of Muskoka is asking drivers to be extra cautious this week.

That’s because of the condition the weather changes have left the roads in. The warmer air has led to some thawing which in turn has led to localized flooding on some roads. At the same time, the ground frost combined with that warmer air to cause numerous potholes throughout Muskoka.

The district says crews have been working through the night to address the flooding and will continue to work for the rest of the week on both the flooding and fixing potholes.

With that said as fluctuating temperatures move into the region for the rest of the week, drivers are being warned that both more flooding and icy conditions are possible. You should doublecheck the forecast before heading out.
