Look for flooding on highway and roads

As the temperature has gone above freezing there is a threat of flooding on roadways.

Catch basins are covered with snow, giving no place for melting snow to go.

Significant pools of water are developing on Highway 11, mostly in low lying areas of the road in the left lane. There is a very good chance as darkness sets in that vehicles could hydro-plane, potentially causing loss of steering at highway speed.

Callers to the station have also noted flooding on main streets in Bracebridge such as Manitoba and Brunel Street in Huntsville.

The low-temperature forecast for Muskoka is around zero to plus one degree and Environment Canada is calling for freezing drizzle through the evening hours.
