Coldest night of the year event helps vulnerable residents

It is a fundraiser to recognize the plight of the homeless in winter in Muskoka.

The Coldest Night of the Year is a charity walk taking place later in the month that helps raise funds for the Table Soup Kitchen Foundation. It helps feed hungry, homeless and hurting people in the Muskoka region at it’s Huntsville location.

The event website speaks to the quiet desperation of the people in the community that can be crushed by the struggle, trauma, shame, and loneliness of being homeless.

The Coldest Night of the Year also shows support for those families that are on the fringes and having a tough time putting food on the table, keeping the rent paid and getting kids to school.
