Freezing drizzle falling in Muskoka

Freezing drizzle has been falling in the Muskoka region.

If you are going out, build a few extra minutes into your departure to scrape ice off your car.

Road and sidewalk surfaces will be slippery and possibly have hard to detect ice patches.

Conditions are wet and slushy on the highway, while municipalities have deployed sidewalk cleaning equipment to remove the couple of centimetres of loose ice and slushy snow, as well as to lay salt or sand down.

Temperatures are just above zero, with Huntsville and Bracebridge currently reading plus two.

As the drizzle continues through the day the concern will be if temperatures drop once the sun has gone down. Currently, there are no warnings or watches, simply an advisory in place from Environment Canada and the low temperature is forecast to remain at plus two.
