Muskoka Veg Fest to stay in Huntsville – Bracebridge drops support

Support for a vegan festival in Bracebridge has been dropped.

It comes as a result of Muskoka Veg Fest running its second annual event in Huntsville despite requesting a grant request for support from the Town of Bracebridge.

Council had committed $3,500 to Muskoka Veg Fest but the Planning and Development and Finance Departments are recommending the money be deleted from the Economic Development Event Strategy, lowering the budget to just over $68,000 for the year.

At one point organizers had committed to running the event on August 10th at Annie Williams Park in Bracebridge according to a report from the town for an upcoming council meeting.

Held in Huntsville last summer, Veg Fest brings together vendors and restaurants that specialize in cooking with vegetables.

Muskoka Veg Fest is now confirmed for Huntsville at River Mill Park on August 10th.
