Arctic chill coming to Muskoka leads to frostbite risk warning

Bundle up because Muskoka is going to feel like the Arctic this weekend.

While communities just south of us get pummeled by a massive winter storm, Environment Canada has a different kind of winter warning for Muskoka. Temperatures in the area are expected to dip down below minus 30 with the wind chill starting tonight, which is coming with a warning of frostbite risk.

Emergency officials say when the temperature drops this low you should try to avoid staying outside for too long. If you do need to venture out, make sure most of your skin is covered, as frostbite can often set in within minutes.

The arctic chill is expected to move on from the district by Tuesday.
