Two men hospitalized, police investigating following Almaguin snowmobile crash

Two men are in hospital following a snowmobile crash in Almaguin.

Almaguin Highlands OPP reports two snowmobiles collided on an OFSC trail near Sundridge on Sunday afternoon. Both snowmobiles were travelling in opposite directions and the drivers were thrown when they hit each other at a corner of the trail.

Police say 34-year-old Tyler Fillier of Wilmont Township had to be airlifted to hospital and 51-year-old Thomas Winn of Port Colborne was transported by Parry Sound EMS. Both reportedly had non-life threatening injuries.

Members of the Sundridge, Strong, Joly Fire Department and the South River Machar Fire Department were also called out to assist in rescue efforts.

The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
