Pot talk to take over many of Muskoka’s council tables next week

Marijuana will likely be the hot topic next week across Muskoka.

Many of the district’s new municipal councils will be meeting for the first time in 2019, just ahead of the deadline to opt in or out for local pot sales.

The town of Bracebridge will start off the discussion a bit earlier, as it’s on the agenda for the planning and development meeting Wednesday. But, the town’s final decision will be made alongside councils in Georgian Bay, Gravenhurst and Muskoka Lakes during meetings next week.

Lake of Bays will follow up with its cannabis conversation the following week on deadline day. The deadline for Ontario municipalities to say yes or no is January 22nd.
