Bracebridge OPP reporting missing/swapped licence plates

Residents in a Bracebridge neighbourhood need to check their licence plates.

People living in the Clearbrook Trail area have been reporting stolen or swapped licence plates.

Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police say so far three people have contacted them to report either a missing plate or a different plate has been attached.

In other parts of the province, stolen plates may be put on cars that have been stolen and are going to be used in other crimes.

It is important you report the missing plate to the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario so it can be cancelled. Failure to do so could result in parking tickets, 407 charges or red light camera fines from whatever vehicle now displays the plate.

OPP is asking that if you live in that area to check all your vehicles and make sure the correct plates are attached.

If you spot a missing or swapped plate or you have some information that may assist the investigation, you are asked to contact Constable James Reading at the Bracebridge Detachment – 705-645-2211.
