No signed land lease agreement yet for Crown lands at Bala Falls

Swift River Energy Ltd still does not have a signed land lease for the Crown lands at the Bala North Falls where they propose to build a controversial power plant. This was confirmed today when the Moose contacted the MNR about the matter. Any signed land lease there can only come after another stage in the process, which is currently underway. Earlier this week Swift River’s Bala Falls Project Manager Karen McGhee could not confirm whether or not the company would make a move on the property the Monday following the Bala Cranberry Festival. The 20th of October has been widely touted as the first day any action could take place there. Kowalski could not confirm when or if the current application process might be approved.
