The Canadian Blood Services (CBS) is in a critical situation with a nationwide blood shortage. Territory Manager Julie Rose says this national appeal for more donations includes Muskoka.

Contributing factors to the shortage include the lack of appointments. Rose says at last week’s clinic at the Active Living Centre in Huntsville, they expected over 70 people to come through the doors.

She did say the word about their need must be spreading. On Monday’s clinic in Bracebridge, they collected 92 per cent of their target. Not only does CBS needs more appointments, they also need more blood of two specific types.
