Gravenhurst Fire Department hosts 'Fire Prevention Week' open house

The Gravenhurst Fire Department is inviting you to join them for Fire Prevention Week. From October 5th to the 11th, Fire Prevention Week is happening in Gravenhurst and across North America to help promote fire safety. The fire department is hosting a series of open houses at each of its fire stations in Gravenhurst, Ryde and Kilworthy. During the Open Houses, the department will be offering free give-a-ways for carbon monoxide alarms (while supplies last) and the chance for anyone over the age of 10 to practice their firefighting skills by using fire extinguishers to put out real fires. The public is also asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the local food bank.

The Open Houses run from 7-9pm on Monday October 6, at the Ryde Fire Station (Station 3), Tuesday October 7, at the Kilworthy Fire Station (Station 2) and Wednesday October 8, at the Gravenhurst Fire Station (Station 1). For more information, please visit www.gravenhurst.ca
