Heat wave continues in Muskoka, could last until Thursday

A heat wave in Muskoka is continuing to scorch the district this week.

Environment Canada warns, despite a brief break from the extra hot weather on Monday, the temperature will be reaching the mid to high 30s for the next few days. Meteorologist Mitch Meredith says this heatwave make hit a record if it reaches a seven-day stretch.

To deal with the hotter-than-usual days, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit suggests drinking lots of water, staying out of the sun as much as possible and slathering on the sunscreen when you’re outside.

Meredith says the temperature should drop to the high 20s by Friday.
