The “no” vote on Scotland’s independence has hit close to home. Jim Milne is a teacher at Huntsville High School, who grew up in Scotland. Milne says it was a very interesting time in politics for the country.
Just over 55 per cent voted against independence and almost 45 per cent voted yes. There are many factors that contributed to the results. Once of which Milne believes could be the fear of change.
Milne grew up in a working class household and he says the class divide in Scotland and Britain could be another contributing factor.
Milne says the best thing for country now it so try to move forward and hopefully the promises made by the British government will be kept. This includes giving Scotland more powers on taxes, spending and welfare.
