Lake of Bays is asking for residents’ input on a by-law to regulate the discharge of firearms and bows. The town has recently received complaints of a resident conducting target shooting in a community zone. The proposed by-law would forbid shooting on properties less than five acres, within 300 metres of a dwelling on another lot and within 300 metres of a public road. There would be exceptions to this rule as well, such normal farm practice or driving off nuisance wildlife. If you want to share your thoughts on the idea you have until October 17th to submit your comments or concerns.
