Town of Gravenhurst is looking for Community Ambassadors

If you love the town of Gravenhurst, and want to help it grow, a new volunteer opportunity might be for you.  According to the Economic Development Team, a newly developed Community Ambassador Program is said to be a way for residents to get involved in the development of the community and advertise the town as a place to live, work and grow.

According to Jeff Loney, Manager of the new ambassador program, this will be a chance for locals who are passionate, friendly and energetic, to spread the word of Gravenhurst. He says ambassadors will be required to participate in a 30-minute training session and after that, it will be about spreading the word of how Gravenhurst is a positive place to relocate too. He also says a minimum commitment of one to two hours a year will be enough to build momentum for this project and help promote the town.

The Community Ambassador program is also a way for members of the community to get involved in the growth of Gravenhurst.  As an ambassador, you’ll be involved with talking to people, like restaurant owners, patrons, family and friends, and new visitors to the community. Loney says when an ambassador meets someone looking for a new place to live or start a business, they’ll be able to advocate for Gravenhurst and give these people all of the information they might need to consider a move.
