Muskoka and O.P.P. teaming up to bring more awareness to road safety

The District of Muskoka and area O.P.P. detachments are teaming up keep the roads safe.

There will be a forum at the Bracebridge Sportsplex next Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30.

The district and local detachments want to create a public awareness campaign.

The goals of the campaign are to get people to reduce speeding, share the road and avoid distracted or impaired driving.

Huntsville Detachment Commander John Graham says the police are not seeing a spike in dangerous driving but does want to be proactive.

District Commissioner of Engineering and Public Works Fred Jahn (YAWN) says public input is key to the campaign.
