OPP lays a number of charges connected to a rash of break-and-enters

An in-depth investigation in Midland is coming to an end. The Southern Georgian Bay OPP has laid charges on five people in connection to nine break-and-enters. The OPP says four of the break-ins happened in Tiny Township, two were in Tay Township, one in Penetanguishene and two in Midland, throughout January and February.

The stolen items from those thefts are worth over $10,000 all tolled. The OPP says that includes a large collection of Canadian Forces Service Medals, which were found and returned to their rightful owner.

A 40-year-old Midland man is facing 31 charges in total, including eight counts of break-and-enter and four counts of trafficking in stolen goods under $5,000. A 45-year-old Midland woman and a 29-year-old Penetanguishene man are both charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. A 27-year-old Midland man is facing breaking probation and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 charges. Finally, a 29-year-old Midland woman is facing three counts of breaking and entering.
