Whispering Pines Scouting groups get Olympic fever in Muskoka

Scouting groups in Muskoka are celebrating the Winter Olympics in their own way.

Beaver, Cub and Scout Troops came together over the weekend to compete in games similar to events held during the Olympics. The games included broomball, ski races and sledge hockey.

Representative Shawn Forth says events like this give the kids a chance to break out of their usually indoor sessions and meet with their peers.

Forth says each of the groups represented a different country during the games.

Over 90 kids from the Whispering Pines Area, which includes Muskoka, Orillia, Almaguin and the Georgian Bay area, took part in the event in Bracebridge.
