Tips to keep in mind during a power outage

As customers continue to deal with the outages, there are some things you should avoid doing to ensure your safety. Barney Owens is the Director of Response with the Office of the Fire Marshall and Emergency Management for Ontario. He says bringing in outside cooking equipment is a huge no no.

Owens also says it’s a good idea have an emergency kit filled with essential items like flashlights, non-perishable food items and blanket for an outage. He also says you should also invest in small generator and have a working radio to listen to your local news station for power updates.
