Another 15 locations picked for marijuana stores, Muskoka not on the list

Muskoka still isn’t making the list for a marijuana store in 2018.

The province has announced the next round of locations for the LCBO-run stores opening next July. Fifteen communities including Niagara Falls, Lindsay, Peterborough and Burlington were all selected. The store that will open nearest to Muskoka right now is Barrie. The province plans to have 40 stores open by the time marijuana sales are legalized next year, which means there are still 11 locations that need to be announced. This final announcement isn’t expected to come through until next year.

The federal government is offering to give Ontario 70 cents of every tax dollar collected from marijuana sales.
