Canadian Blood Services asking Huntsville to pay it forward this holiday season

Whether it’s a regular day or a holiday, the need for blood is still high. That’s what Canadian Blood Services wants Huntsville to remember as a blood donor clinic is booked for Boxing Day this year. Territory Manager Elaine St. Pierre says it’s luck of the draw for when the clinics get booked, and Huntsville happened to get December 26th this year, but that doesn’t mean the need for donors is any less.

St. Pierre says the need for blood is sometimes even higher over the holiday season.

She says so far the Boxing Day clinic is only about 38 per cent booked, which means there are still around 100 open appointments. She says Huntsville is always a great supporter of their clinics, and hopes once donors are done their Boxing Day shopping they will be able to come out to the blood drive.

There is also a clinic running this Saturday in Huntsville, however St. Pierre says it is already pretty much full.

You can book an appointment on the Canadian Blood Services website, through the app called Give Blood, or by calling 1-888-2-DONATE.
