If you’re planning a winter vacation you should be thinking about home security.
OPP Constable Philippe Regamey says you can take steps to protect your home from would-be thieves while you are away, whether it’s for a few weeks or one night.
Regamey says it’s also important to make sure to lock your vehicle, park in a well-lit area and hide any valuables.
He says you should also let a friend or neighbour you trust know that you’ll be away.
Tell them where you’re going, how to reach you, how long you’ll be gone and if anyone else will be at your home.
