Tree lighting and Santa Claus parades this weekend in Muskoka

Santa is going to be busy in Muskoka this weekend. There are multiple Santa Claus parades in the district, starting tonight in Huntsville. The second annual tree lighting ceremony gets underway at 6:15 at town hall steps, with music from the Huntsville Community Choir and free hot chocolate. Then the parade begins at 7:00pm, starting at Main and Centre and ending at the Huntsville Place Mall. It should be a fairly warm evening for it as Environment Canada is calling for a low of plus four, however there is a chance of showers.

You can see Santa again tomorrow in Gravenhurst for the town’s parade, which begins at 11:00am. It starts at the Gravenhurst Legion, and will go through the Main Street core. Afterwards, visit with Santa at the Opera House where there will be food, drinks and holiday crafts. Be sure to bring an umbrella, as the forecast is calling for clouds with a chance of rain changing to a chance of flurries after noon. The temperature is expected to dip to minus one in the afternoon.

On Sunday, the Honey Harbour Santa Clause parade kicks off at 1:00pm, starting at the Village Marina. Also happening Sunday is Port Sydney’s tree lighting ceremony. The event starts at 4:00pm at Port Sydney Hall with music and carol singing, and the tree will be lit just before 6:00pm. There will also be crafts and a silent auction table. Expect clouds with snow throughout the day, and a high of plus one.

Finally, Bracebridge will also be getting a visit from Santa next weekend, with the parade kicking off at 1:00pm on December 3rd.
