Bracebridge OPP appealing to the public for information on a stolen truck

The Bracebridge OPP is looking for help in tracking down a stolen truck. At about 1:30 this morning a work van was taken from an address on Muskoka Road 117 in Bracebridge without permission by a family friend after a dispute. The driver then allegedly ran off the road on Winhara Road in Gravenhurst and couldn’t get the van free. The police found the abandoned vehicle at about 7:30 this morning.

At around 6:30 this morning a truck was stolen from an address close to where the van ran off the road, and the OPP says it believes the two incidents are connected. The stolen truck is a maroon coloured 2008 GMC Sierra 2500 with Ontario plates of 2739ZS.

The OPP is looking to speak with 31-year-old Colin Thiede from St. Catharine’s, Ontario about the incident, and asking anyone with information to call (888) 310 1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
