Clement proposes a crack down on funding coming from foreign extremist groups

Tony Clement is looking for support from Ottawa to push back against terrorism.

The Parry Sound Muskoka MP tabled a private members bill this week named the Prevention of Radicalization Funding Act. The bill focuses on money coming into Canada from foreign states that have been tied to extremist or terrorist groups.

Clement says he’s already getting support for the proposed bill from Canadian Muslim groups and other minorities desperate to bring down the extremist movements within their communities.

Clement says he hopes the Liberals see the value of this bill and vote to support it.
