Family of Eugene Kim raises over $40,000 to continue search for missing man in Algonquin Park

The search for a missing Markham man is continuing in Algonquin Park.

Earlier this month, 38-year-old Eugene Kim was reported missing after he never returned home to his family. Through investigation, police found Kim’s cellphone had been used near North Bay and he was spotted buying a pass into Algonquin Park with an unknown person. Park officials have searched the area and turned up nothing.

Since then, Kim’s family has started a GoFundMe campaign to finance more searches in the park. The campaign goal was set at $10,000, but has pushed over $40,000. Kim’s family says they are thankful for the support and will not give up on finding the husband and father.

York Regional Police are still working with the OPP in Muskoka as part of the investigation into Kim’s disappearance. Anyone with information is asked to call police or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
