Police are searching for a man who went missing on a pontoon boat on Georgian Bay.
On Friday afternoon, 53-year-old Owen Sands of Toronto went out on a pontoon boat near Shawanga Inlet and never returned. His family later discovered the boat near Trim Tree Island, but Sands was nowhere to be found.
West Parry Sound OPP has called in air and marine units as well as Carling Township firefighters and the coast guard to search for Sands. Police are also reaching out to the public for any information on where Sands might have gone. He’s described as a five foot nine white man with a thin build, short greying blonde hair and blue eyes.
