District considering CIP grants for affordable housing developments in Muskoka

The District of Muskoka is hoping to offer a new level of incentive for affordable housing.
District staff wants to have the ability to give out Community Improvement Program grants on the regional level. Currently, municipalities like Bracebridge and Huntsville can give out CIP grants for business improvement projects. The district would use the CIP program to give grants to developers building local affordable housing. This new option will be discussed during the next Planning and Economic Development Planning Committee on September 21st.
