Police warn Muskokans to lock your homes and cars or your valuables could be up for grabs

Police are reminding residents in Muskoka to lock it or lose it.
This comes after police wrapped up an investigation into a string of break and enters in Severn Township, which led to two arrests. Orillia OPP says during the investigation a few of the victims said they felt safer leaving their cars or homes unlocked in an area like Muskoka. Police say a crime like theft can happen anywhere if the opportunity is right. You should always leave your car locked and take valuables with you or hide them out of sight. If you’re going away for a while, police suggest having a neighbour check your mail and mow your lawn. An adult man and teenage boy were both charged with breaking and entering, possession of property obtained by crime and illegal use of a credit card. Police won’t be releasing the names of either of the suspects to protect the identity of the underage boy.
