Gravenhurst officials say the beach is still not safe to use at Gull Lake Rotary Park

The beach at Gull Lake Rotary Park is staying closed indefinitely.
On Friday, town officials closed the beach after an unknown substance was found in the water nearby. Since then the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit have been called in to investigate. The health unit tests show E. coli levels are not dangerous, but the town is still waiting on the results from the ministry. Until then the beach will stay closed. Reports have speculated it could be an oil or gas spill, but there hasn’t been any confirmation from officials.
