Gravenhurst officials cut the ribbon on The Loop transit service

Gravenhurst is officially offering transit service to its residents.

Town officials cut the ribbon on The Loop on Tuesday morning.

Director of Development Services Scott Lucas says this six-month transit pilot will help in deciding if transit is a necessity in the town.

Lucas says at this time the service is more useful for residents that want to go shopping or get to a doctors’ appointment

He says the town will be looking for feedback from riders during the six-month period.

The Loop makes use of the Highway 11 Corridor bus each week from Tuesday to Thursday on a circuit around the town.

The service will be free until the end of August and the town is considering charging two dollars per ride for the rest of the pilot period.

You can find more details on The Loop schedule and how to give your own feedback on the service here.
