Muskokans are liking a new initiative called “Project Drive Thru”

Muskokans are interested in a new initiative in southern Ontario that teaches drive-thru workers to spot impaired drivers. The Halton Police Service has trained workers at over 30 fast food restaurants in Burlington to look for things like open alcohol or drugs in the car, and how the driver is maneuvering in the drive-thru lane.

Moose FM went to the streets to find out if Muskokans think Project Drive Thru should be implemented in cottage country.

Halton Police officials say if the number of impaired driving arrests goes up this year, they’ll look into bringing the program into other municipalities.

The Halton Police Service has also released a video with a number of signs for drive-thru workers to look for.
