Huntsville releases line-up for 2017 Concert on the Dock

Another summer of live music is on its way to Huntsville. The town has released its line-up for the 2017 Concert on the Dock summer series.

The shows run every Wednesday night, beginning at 7:00pm. It’s free for everyone, but the town asks you bring a toonie to donate which will go back to the artists who perform.

Algonquin Theatre Manager Matt Huddlestone says all of the performers are local, and the shows run every Wednesday night in July and August.

He says this year Concert on the Dock is part of the Muskoka Signature Experience Collection for the first time, which means it will be featured by Muskoka Tourism. He says that’s huge for the event, which has been going on for 10 years, and this is the fourth year for the setting on the docks.

Huddlestone says they had over 100 artists submit applications to be a part of this year’s line up, and they whittled the list down to eight.

He says one of those fan favourites is the Northern Lights Steel Orchestra Band. One of its members, Marlon Jordan, says they have around 30 members, and they play everything from Bob Marley to Queen.

Closing out the summer long concert is newcomer to the event, Clayton Earl. He says he’ll be playing all original music which is a mix of country, rock and folk.

The first concert is on July 5th at 7:00pm.
