Canada Day celebrations are bigger, better and bolder in Bracebridge for 150

Canada’s 150th means the celebrations on July 1st in Bracebridge will be bigger and better than ever.
This is from the Co-Chair of the Rotary Club of Bracebridge Fireworks Committee Steve Meadley.
Meadley says one big upgrade this year is a barge that will be floating on Muskoka River between the wharf and Kelvin Grove Park.
Meadley says daytime festivities on Saturday will start a bit earlier on Manitoba Street as well.
The lead up to the main fireworks event starts at 4:00pm down by the river and Meadley says the club has invested in a new sound system that will bring music and announcements to both sides of the river.
The popular Muskoka Brewery Beer Tent will also be set up on the wharf once again.
To top it all off, Meadley says there is a very special surprise that will be unveiled during the event that is expected to highlight the attraction of the falls in Bracebridge.
He says more details on that surprise will be released closer to July.
