MNRF: Low lying areas should prepare for flooding

Flooding is still a possibility in Muskoka with more rain and snow in the forecast this week. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry still has a flood outlook in effect, to give early notice of the possibility of flooding.

Acting Resource Management Supervisor for the Bracebridge field office, Mara Kelly, says they’re mainly concerned about the Big East, the North Muskoka and the Moon Rivers.

Kelly says low-lying areas could be affected by flooding.

Kelly, says the MNRF recommends making sure any property along the shoreline is secured and protected.
