Students learn to think outside the box about poverty in Muskoka

Students in Muskoka are seeing through the eyes of someone affected by poverty.
On Wednesday, St. Dominic Catholic Secondary School hosted the Poverty Challenge for high schools around the district.
Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board Chair Carol Corriveau-Truchon says this challenge helps students break the stereotypes that surround poverty.
Students spent the morning and afternoon walking in the shoes of someone that has actually experienced poverty in Muskoka.
Afterwards each group of students had an opportunity to meet with the people these roles were based on.
