UPDATED: Gravenhurst officials to hold public meeting on possible Muskoka Regional Centre redevelopment

If you’re feeling in the dark about what’s happening with the Muskoka Regional Centre, the Town of Gravenhurst wants to talk with you.
The town is holding a public meeting this afternoon to offer some more education and insight into the possible redevelopment of the property.
Town CAO Glen Davies says, the municipality has been in discussions with Maple Leaf Education Systems to open a Canadian-Chinese curriculum high school.
Davies says this growning trend provides Chinese students an opportunity to learn in an English-speaking environment.
The town still needs to work out a deal with the province to first acquire the property and then hand it over to MLES.
The public meeting runs from noon until 1:30pm at the Gravenhurst Opera House and residents will have a chance to speak with representatives from MLES as well as the town.
